Clik here to view. It’s the last day of the year! A day of reflection. There’s this need in our human psyche to cleanse ourselves of the old, and to beckon the new. But when you think about it, tomorrow is just another ordinary day. Even so, I can’t help but feel another curtain of history is closing. Tomorrow we shall wake up to something magically different!
It’s been an interesting year. I dare not categorise it as good or bad. That would be way too simple. It contained dimensions I cannot explain or measure. I sailed the length and breadth of my soul and somehow came to a happy levelling. Perhaps no categories are necessary. It just was. And I’m so glad to be where I am right now.
There were highlights. There was my dream trip to Bali. There was my recent trip ‘home’ to Sydney. But there was also the small things. The details that shone like diamonds. The outrageously fine moments. Not a day passed without Mr G making me laugh. Not a day passed without my kids bursting my heart.
And then there was blogging. You know… this thing you’re reading. You may have noticed I slowed down this year. Being sick has a way of dulling the senses and making you doubt your abilities altogether. Along the way I lost the joy of documenting the bright and the precious. So I gave myself permission to let go. I’m glad I did. I can’t wait to get back into it. I’m feeling fresh.
In 2015 I’m giving myself permission to write about anything and everything. I want to worry less about producing epic posts. I want to worry less about crafting my words. Instead I want to relax and write without fear. I want to write more about the colour and passion of my ordinary life.
My biggest goal for 2015 is not anything new. It’s simply to say hello to myself each morning and tell myself I’m loved. You’re loved too, by the way. Did you know that?
Thank you dear readers for reading in 2014. I’ve truly loved all your comments and connection. I hope you’ll join me for more in 2015.
I can feel the curtains closing behind us now. Shall we step into the magically different but ordinary tomorrow? Happy New Year!
